Le projet Dakota est né de la rencontre de deux collectifs. Les vidéastes cinaciens de Gomazio et le collectif musical Dawans-Bonesso. Deux musiciens habitués à improviser de la musique à la trompette et à l'accordéon dans les églises. L'idée innovante était d'y ajouter ici un côté immersif par la vidéo dont le montage est également réalisé en direct. S'instaure alors un véritable dialogue entre l'image et la musique, l'un s'adaptant à l'autre et inversément, tout en respectant le fil narratif de l'histoire et en créant un spectacle unique à chaque représentation.        

Ce qui n'était pas prévu au début du projet, c'est que les images servant à illustrer la performance deviennent un court-métrage à part entière. "La Famille Dakota (c'est le titre du film) mène d'ailleurs une vive propre depuis quelques mois dans différents festivals internationaux. Désormais complètement intégré au spectacle, le court-métrage raconte comment les membres d'une famille aussi saugrenue que fracassée prennent la route en direction du bord de mer où se situe la maison de Bon-Papa Dakota, un vieux bonhomme qui se sent partir. Arriveront-ils tous à temps ?

   The Dakota project was born from the meeting of two collectives. The Cinacian videographers of Gomazio and the musical collective Dawans-Bonesso. Two musicians used to improvise music on trumpet and accordion in churches. The innovative idea was to add an immersive side to it here through video, which is also edited live. A real dialogue is then established between the image and the music, one adapting to the other and vice versa, while respecting the narrative thread of the story and creating a unique show for each performance.        

What was not planned at the beginning of the project was for the images used to illustrate the performance to become a full-fledged short film. "The Dakota Family (this is the title of the film) has been running a clean show in recent months at various international festivals. Now fully integrated into the show, the short film tells how members of a family as crazy as it is shattered take the road to the seaside where Bon-Papa Dakota, an old man who feels he is leaving, lives. Will they all arrive in time?
